Blues 4 (Jones Longstaff Watts(2)) Emley 2. A good work out especially in first half.

Great to see Leon Henry back on the pitch. Sounds like a decent performance, I was elsewhere.
Shame about Dean Jones injury however.

We passed the ball well at times and kept it. Watts was the star man for me, lively and stronger than last season. The mystery right winger looked like the second coming of jarzinho at times. Games like that aren't a true test as we'vevfound out before but we're looking ok so far.

Best not to carried away, the Blues have done all right and look a stronger squad than last season
but are still capable of poor performances if they put out a weak side. The first few league games
will show just what the team is capable of probably. Need Ryan to start finding the net sooner rather
than later and Simpson to influence the side a little more and improve his heading - he doesn't seem to
get much distance on headers out of defence, which opposition midfielders can feed upon. The best
header out I ever saw play was Paul McGrath, used to hit the half way line from the penalty box quite
often. I don't expect that from a Frickley defender but I believe it is something that can be improved on.
