Anyone want to stick their neck out and predict the Final top 5 and playoffs results? A surprise to the winner after it all!

This is my offering...

Table at 5pm on Friday 29th April

1 Chester
2 Skem
3 Chorley
4 Curzon
5 AFC Fylde

Skem v AFC Fylde - Draw (Skem to win on penalties)
Chorley v Curzon - Comfortably Chorley, capitalising on a Curzon capitulation

Final : Skem v Chorley - Chorley to knick it on 93rd minute with a penalty.

Skem 1 v 3 AFC Fylde
Chorley 0 v 1 Curzon

AFC Fylde to beat Curzon Ashton 2-1

I honestly don't think that the playoffs will be as straight forward as you think. I believe these playoffs will result in some shocks just as happened last season. Just as happened the season before in our Vodkat league title decider...

Fylde can easily beat Skem. They just have to wallop them in the first half and sit back and defend like mad for the second

Newcastle Town v Grantham Town
Rushall Olympic v Brigg Town

I'm going to sit firmly on the fence. Both games given the recent home and away form of the participants are far too close to call.

Given you scraped a 90th minute winner at, frankly awful, Shepshed and Newcastle's home form is recently rock solid.......Can only be Newcastle.

Fancy Rushall to nick the other one.

Bear, did you bother to look at Grantham's away form? Or the results betwen the two sides? The Gingerbreads away have been every bit as rock solid as Newcastle at home. Their recent defeat at Rushall was the first away in the league since October. Newcastle may be the leagues' top scorers averaging nearly 2.5 goals per game but only managed 1 in the two games betwen the sides.

I can't agree with your "Can only" comment. However, I agree with your assessment of the other game. Rushall were very strong at their place and have a good combination up front.

GET IN THERE!!

Newcastle were steamrollered. They never got a look in and were thoroughly beaten and lost their dicipline by the end. Two goals in the first half hour from Grantham rocked them back and they never recovered.

Bring on Rushall on Monday.

Winston, you've already got a thread on the Southern Promotion Race. Go to it

Sorry to have upset you ChorleyClaret by reminding you that there is a Division 1 South as well as North. The title of this thread is "Playoff Prediction?" No geography attached to that, my friend.
