After the last run of results its about time to start puttting a run together and get back to winning ways.lets cut out the bickering
if someone makes a mistake, just give them some more encouragement and to back them...were virtually the same team that got to the top for so long...lets not blow it....its still ours to throw away....

At last! Pleased to report a 4-1 win for the Reserves.

I only caught the last 45 very fiesty minutes and so would appreciate more info' from our regular Reserve correspondents who know the players better. Steve Cheetham took a nice goal ( yes, honestly! )and the other one I saw was smartly finished. Steve Robinson was back in midfield, appeared to play well, but took some frightful 'clog'.

Well done lads!

Bugger.

I was planning on going to this but decided not to at the last minute.

Great result, mind.

Well done, lads.

Great news - well done the Reserves! I notice it's been a rocky road of late so it's good to finally see a big result for the boys.

In the Prem, St Helens only drew so we stay 5th.

maine road res v monk

few changes for tonites match...
couple of 1st team players and new lads....road started the match at a good pace and it wasnt long before we had are 1st chance danny clare firing over from close range it wasnt long before we took the lead..one of the new lads sharpie firing in from just inside the box.road kept up the pressure and were again reward when levi beat the back 4 and slotted home.road taking a 2-0 lead in at half time. monk came out the 2nd half
more determined, but road went further ahead against the run of play when stevie cheetham finished from the edge of the box after good work by danny and levi.back came monk with a swift reply to get a goal that looked well offside.road responded by going down the other end and sharpie got his 2nd of the match.
this was a tough hard game and steve robinson took one hell of a kicking in central midfield.
highlights of the night were the class and composure of steve cheetham, the grit ,battle and determination of steve robinson,
and the workrate, commitment and finishing of sharpie.all round good battling performance from the team tonite.

A few photos from the 2nd half last night on the Gallery (same section as 1st team v Flixton). Alex's camera not really suited to night games, but better than nowt.
