A game we should easily have won. We dominated the game without really creating any clear-cut chances. If I were to rate this performance, it would be 7 out of ten.I give them a 7 because of the way we dominated the game.A little tweaking and we will be fine.

I thought it was a bit more even than that, just our lads fitness was better than theirs, though they did get a second wind later on. Two great goals. Thought Eddie Moran had a very good first-half in the middle, but faded, and we were exposed quite a bit down our right in the second half, though Ste coped very well, could've done with a bit more support, mind.

Alex Jay looked very composed alongside Gresty, and Brockie and Chapple both played quite well, as did James Rothel in the second period. Nice to see Luke there, always a danger, just hope Steve Hibbert's injury isn't serious. Greg was a bit sloppy, but put himself about.

Thought Nelson's no4 was terrific before he was replaced. The ref perhaps wasn't quite as awful as others seemed to think either. A promising start, though.

Back from my after-match wind down pints. Thinking about pulling the match report together. My initial thoughts are closer to 'Stech's' in that although Road played the classier football in possession, there were so many times when we lost the ball, or in the latter period, when the midfield legs had gone, that Nelson's more direct, generally aerial approach was almost inevitably going to wear us down (I'll expand in the report). A fair result and two cracking goals!

I'll certainly go with the 7/10 rating, Mainemouth....but no higher....maybe if being pedantic, something like 6.7!

I thought we dominated. Nelson never looked like scoring before we did. When you work hard and get the goal you deserve, it ain't pipe and slippers time! It's time to work even harder.

Stech is quite right, I was tearing my hair out over the gaping hole on the right side. No one seemed to want to get over there.

But overall it was a good performance. Hibbert looked a bit handy, hope the injury isn't too serious. Gresty was a rock and Moran looked a tidy player. The referee seemed reluctant to give us much. Good start but wasted 2 points.

Good to hear from you, Lee and good to have you back. How does it feel playing on the left?
