The result today was a sideline on what has been a very sad day for the club. The passing of Brian Chivers last night has left a big void at the club.I would personally like to thank everyone who was at the ground today for the impeccable way in which the minutes silence was observed. Everyone there was a credit to football. Thankyou all.

What was brians role at the club

Brian didnt have a specific role. His partner runs the clubhouse and cafe. Brian was Mr do anything. He did so much unseen work that he will be sorely missed. If anything needed mending Brian always knew someone who could do it if he couldnt do it himself. He organised so much behind the scenes, from the making up of the pitchside boards to last years renovation of the toilets.
He was always there to open the ground during the week for anyone who needed to be in,i.e workmen,meter readers etc. The type of person present at most clubs but who people never notice. A real unsung hero.
