In a game that was brought forward from the last game of the season, due to no involvement in the FA Cup.
Saw Crook travel to Easington & came away with an emphatic 6-2 victory.
Crook opened the scoring when Matthew Stephenson volleyed in at the back post from a Chris Emms corner. Easington equalised soon after when goalkeeper Dean Caris came charging out of his box for a through ball that he was never going to get and allowed Jack Pounder to take the ball around him to slot it into an empty net. The Easington goal rocked rocked Crook a bit and half time could not come soon enough as we were hanging on a bit. H/T 1-1
A Crook Town double substitution at half time made a massive difference as well as scoring a second goal early, Dale Elgie & Callum Smith replaced Daniel Johnston & Scott Ryan and it was Smithy who was brought down in the box after one of his trademark mazy runs. Daniel Pigg confidently dispatched the penalty. Easington again equalised with wonder strike from Liam Adamson who's rocket strike flew into the net at the exact spot the Crook keeper couldn't get to it.
After that it was near domination by Crook Town who's quick counter attacks Easington couldn't handle and it wasn't long before Crooks lead was restored with Luke Hogan heading in from close range, the fourth goal was another penalty from Daniel Pigg. Crook then made their final substitution Christian Holliday replaced Daniel Pigg who was taken off as a precaution after getting a knock. Then came the goal of the season which topped the Easington second goal Luke Hogan picked up the ball cut inside before firing left footed into the top corner before hitting the stantion behind the goal and coming out. The game was wrapped up when Christian Bisto Holliday scored Crooks sixth but to be fair the game was over as a contest long before that.
I have to give a special mention to the heartless assistant ref who ruled out for offside what was definitely goal of the season when Chris Emms played a 40 yard pass perfectly to Christian Holliday who volleyed into the top corner from 20 yards out, it was that good even the Easington bench said to the liner to let it stand but like a true match official there was no changing his mind lol.
Hopefully Crook can take this performance into Wednesdays first home game of the season against Darlington RA.

Great performance against one of the fancied teams. It could easily of been double figures.
We will do very well this season, the signs have been there in pre season. We will surprise a few this season.
2 home games on Wednesday and Friday this week against RA and Willington gives us a great chance of having a great start to the season.
