Let's put things into perspective, we were the under-dogs, a very experienced NL Squad against Gary's put together squad.
I never go in for Champagne Charlie's, I much prefer a team who give their all and we got that today, Crook fielding a young and predominantly local side did us proud, from the first minute, played football and fully deserved the first half lead through the impressive Peter Brown, it should have been at least 3-0 HT.
Then Second half the composed Calum Smith with an expert lob, 2-0.
Against an avalanche of Stan pressure we suffered a response from the much travelled JOHN JO wright 2-1. Got to say we had Ryan to thank for ensuring a 2-1 success. Great day - Onwards and Upwards!

Cracking performance from the lads yesterday. At first I was quite disappointed with our visitors yesterday, as was said previously it could easily and should of been 3-0 at HT.
But once they pulled a goal back they played some great stuff and battered us for long periods, it looked like it was only time before they equalised but our lads dug in deep and defended really well.
Their goalscorer is a cracking centre forward with speed who will score a hell of a lot of goals this season in this league.
Also a brilliant stop from our keeper right at the end to keep the score at 2-1. On their second half performance I can see Heaton Stannington being very close to the promotion spots come next May.
