The opening goal was a free kick by Tommy English that curled right into the top corner, hitting the inside of the post and over to the far side, not headed in.

Thanks for correcting me. Tommy's brother was with Shields some few years ago, likewise an excellent player. Sincere thanks for all the much appreciated hospitality, and a real pleasure to enjoy a conversation and a laugh with your vice chairman, and the gentleman who kindly bought me a pint in the bar.
