This weekend a supporters association six man team with mini bus and medic support and back up will walk the 84 miles of the Roman wall from Bowness on Solway to Wallsend over the course of four days. This is the association's major sponsored fund raising event of the year and follows on previous activities as the coast to coast bike ride and the Great North Run. Donations would be gratefully received in support of the walkers, with many sincere thanks in appreciation. Cheques please made out to 'South Shields FC Supporters Association' and posted to The Secretary, 6, Windsor Drive, Cleadon, Sunderland, SR6 7SY. Hopefully good weather will be present throughout the weekend and the team will enjoy what will mostly certainly be a trip to remember. With good publicity, reports and photographs in our local newspaper the Shields 'Gazette', public interest will follow the team in what will hopefully be a most successful and enjoyable undertaking.
