One of the most attractive and entertaining games on offer at Filtrona Park this season takes place this coming Tuesday evening, when South Shields welcome cross river friendly rivals Whitley Bay for what promises to be an intriguing encounter. For those in, around and within striking distance of South Tyneside it will surely be well worth a visit, never mind what is featured on Sky Sports. For a bumper attendance there is no doubt, with three important league points at stake for both teams, for Shields to hopefully continue their climb up the table, and Bay to endeavour to keep in touch with the league pace setters. A very good competitive game therefore in prospect......

Looking forward to this one - just hope my train from London is not delayed!

Look forward to seeing you again Phil, and it'll be a grand game.

9.00am here in Shields with blue skies, weather fine as hoped and forecast spot on, so all set for this evening's cross River Tyne derby encounter between the Mariners and the Bay, which no doubt at all will be a really good advert for non-league football and hopefully draw a bumper crowd to Filtrona Park, whatever football is being featured on Sky TV. Easy access for Metro users all over Tyneside, the ground is immediately adjacent to Bede Station, and for car users situated just off the main Newcastle Road at Simonside.
