i know that not many people would tip shields for winning the league but lets just suppose that they find themselves within a promotion position .do they have ambitions to go up or would that be a step to soon.

It may be a little soon, it all depends on ££.

Look at Blue Star.

Think that the club would need a major sponsor before it could attempt the unibond and also a top 2 finish.

It's very hard for a team from the North East to sustain a place in the Unibond Leagues...I'd say it would be too much of a risk to the survival of the club.

absolutely light years away unless someone won the lottery and bought the club
no main sponsor at present
dont own the ground
massive ground improvents needed
extortionate travel costs
not enopugh quality players in NE to compete at that level or who would want to travel
wage bill beyond expectations
professional approach needed with people who have experiene at a higher level not sunday league
standard of unibond North etc no better than NL1 top half so why incur all the expence unless huge financial backing was available. Mr Amos has a point
need I go on......................................... it wont happen and cant happen

I disagree with that. I saw Halifax play Wakefield on Tuesday night and thought the standard was closer to a Football League match than a Northern League match.
