Great result today and top performance, after being 2 down after 15 mins Shields got a bit of a fluke goal back just before half time when Chris Rue lobbed the ball into the box and the keeper fumbled the ball over the line. Ramma had ran through to see the ball over the line and the liner flagged for offside he had ran past at least one defender. The CLS fans thought the goal would not stand but the ref explained the offside rule to the liner and the goal was good.
Second half saw shields well up to the task and not long into the half the ball was crossed from the right and found an unmarked Talbot who turned well and blasted the ball into the net, next goal found Kane in space just out side the box got away from his marker and curled the ball into the top corner with the keeper having no chance.
The last goal was a belter too, the ball was played out to the right wing to kane who passed two defenders to cross the ball into the near post where Ramma running in dived in to head the ball over the line from close range game over.
Shields could even afford to miss a penna when the keeper saved from Smith with a great save to push the ball around the post. Full time 4/2 to Shields :D Well done all.

Great display by the Lads.
Good fast passing game, with 4 top class goals.

Back 4 is looking really strong at the moment.
Think young Burn is turning out to be a great asset who has the experience of Riding and Locke to guide him.
New left back looks a good signing.

Onwards and Upwards

viewfromthestand - the referee at HT said that whilst he agreed that two SShields players were in offside positions for the first goal, because neither had jumped with the keeper he allowed the goal to stand. He didn't have to explain anything to the young assistant because he is a very good assistant and flagged because he felt that both Shields players in offside positions made a move towards the CLS keeper potentially distracting him but the ref thought otherwise. Thought your lads deserved the win and even when we were 2 up we were massively second best, finding it hard to understand your league position with the likes of Ramsey, Smith, Kane and Riding etc in your side you should be a lot higher in the league. Best of luck for the rest of the season

I was standing six feet from the ref and the liner when the ref was explaining to the liner the rules why did the liner flag then was overuled by the ref? He was wrong the goal was good. The same liner also missed your defender put his hand on top of Ramsey's head to prevent him from flicking the ball on from a Talbot corner i was standing behind the liner with the same view should have been a penalty but no flag so can't be that good, you only have to watch MOTD on saturday night to see how many times ref's and liners get it wrong and at that level but that's football. Thanks for your remarks and take care.
