Good luck to the lads tomorrow in the first qualifying round
of the FA Vase.
We are certainly in good form at the moment and confidence
is high, but we will need to be up for the task in hand.

It won't be easy against a very hard working Willington team
who beat us at their place in the first game of the season.

Really looking forward to it and hoping for a good result
and hopefully go through to face Whitley Bay in next round.

COME ON YOU MARINERS

An excellent win for Shields in the FA Vase yesterday, a real gutsy performance
against a decent Willington team who work there socks off for each other.
Although Shields were not at there best, must give some credit for that to the opposition
who do not give you any time on the ball and played there part in a decent game.

Brilliant build up play led to a good finish by Stevey Graham to win the match
and get us through to the next round and fly the flag for South Tyneside and
a really tough away trip to four times Vase winners Whitley Bay.

We are massive underdogs for that game but really looking forward to it.

Well done lads.

COME ON YOU MARINERS

Remember when we were underdogs in a semi against the bay a few years ago we went one down and expected the flood gates to open but ramma scored a bullet header to level and tony coe got the winner so you never know.

I see with shields winning no remarks from toot and ploot again.

Matty did you not realize the new ground is at Eden Lane. ?? That's the plan wont get back to Shields but need to keep the sunday league team going and the Mortimer soccer sixes going as it brings in money!! With an average age of 81 on the committee bar the tea girl the dynamic club are going places!! Let's hope they stay there and we can get a proper set up in the town. !!
