A new season, but the same committee and management and the same results, beaten 2-1 by a village team with a population of 7000.There's probably more than 7000 people playing football in Shields every weekend but we can';t get 11 to win a match.Absolute disgrace.

If only the result was a complete surprise-unfortunately it was expected and accepted by the club

Middlesbrough beat Birmingham. I think Birmingham is slightly bigger.
What would your analysis be if Shields beat Willington?

To be fair though, would those "local lads" play for Hebburn if they played at Peterlee?
Would Scotty and Belly who i agree are two smashing blokes still be managing Hebburn if they were playing out of Peterlee?

Some folk should look at the much bigger picture and be grateful South Shields FC are still going

The bigger picture is that they had 8 years to sort out a ground and did nothing to do so until the last 2 years when their bluff was called by the owner of Filtrona. That is why they are in this mess. That is the bigger picture

Its a fact that you know nothing that is going on at the club you just come on and post the same old fertilizer if we win, draw, or get beat when we move back to shields you wont dare put your face through the gate, you are two faced and we love you for it we all get a great laugh at you each time you come on. Get a life :x

Why would anyone want to associate themselves with you lot-you have caused the town to be a laughing stock in local football and none of the local clubs would accommodate you that's how much the current regime are thought of-you even abuse the man who gave you a chance of staying in the town the difference is you want everything for yourselves at minimum or no cost, Sunday League mentality wont ever get anywhere-may as well pack up and hope someone who knows what they are doing might come along and give the town a team. I know enough to know that you all went on bended knees to JR with 5 grand and sent you all on your bike-an embarassment if ever there was one

Two new committee men and a new assistant manager.

I think of the lads signed on for this season at least nine are from Shields and
two of the lads from Sunderland, Feasey and Ramma have played well over
200 games and club skipper Barrie Smith from Gateshead has played over 150 for SSFC.

Don't think thats to bad a list of local lads in a squad.
