Living in Sheffield I struggle to keep up with transfer movements. The much-improved Nantwich website doesn't cover all the comings and goings, so I just thought I'd ask fellow Dabbers' fans how they feel about recent developments.
I know that non-league football in particular can be very fluid and fickle in terms of personnel, but the more successful clubs seem to establish relatively settled line-ups. I was surprised to learn that Lowe had left. I went to see him play (in centre midfield) for Newcastle on Saturday and he had a typically solid game. (If Quinn is looking for a quality number 10, he could do worse than Goodfellow from Gresley - very talented but a bit lazy). Was Lowe deemed not up to Evo Prem standard? I always thought he was very steady and reliable.
Similarly, I was surprised to see Beesley is about to leave. Although he hasn't scored much, he looked a good addition to me - a clever player who linked play very well. I suspect my judgement is poor, and I suspect Jimmy Quinn's is too, despite our good position. I wasn't surprised to see Jones leave - he certainly didn't look to have the quality required. Bu that now leaves us thin up front. Wilson is injury-prone and Lane is raw. Are there plans to bring someone else in? Allowing Lennon to leave looks a strange decision now. 2 of his replacements have already gone. It's a long season so perhaps JQ is still searching for the right balance, and getting it right by January is the most important thing.

I agree and think Beesley is a very clever player. He was unlucky not to score on Saturday, when he and Wilson combined well. He seems to be another player who Jimmy Quinn doesnt seem to rate. Though Saturdays result looks great on paper, it was against a woeful side. Their defence played as if they had just been introduced to each other! The thing that stuck out on Saturday was the way our defence and midfield gave the ball away time after time after time. Against a much stronger side our inability to keep possession could result in another Worksop type thumping. On the positive side, Cooke, despite his two glaring misses on Saturday, is becoming indispensable.
