Maybe its because lots of the new players have played at a higher level and see us a step down and feel they have nothing to prove, whereas some of the players we released last season hadn't played at this level so wanted to show they were good enough.

I think that you might have hit the nail on the head there Garfresco. I've also seen instances of lack of respect being shown between our players which all leads to a diminishing team spirit. Playing as a team was probably our main asset last season but that has almost completely vanished now. I thought that yesterday's game was embarrassing.

I'd like to challenge the myth that we always played fantastic passing football last season. I saw a number of games where the oppositon had more possession and played the better football but we stuck together as a team and got the result in the end.

I can't buy into the 'don't blame Hally' argument. Presumably, on that basis, if it turns round and we start winning games then he doesn't get the credit for that either!

The fact is that any decent team will score at least 4 goals against us even though we have a good goalkeeper. I don't expect Hally to get us promoted but I do expect him to have some idea as to how he is going to sort that problem out.

My thoughts exactly, I refuse to follow everyone else like Sheep, I know what I've seen this season and it has been embarassing for the most part of it, I was glad I didn't see this game I would of lost it completely. I don't buy this don't blame Hall 'crap'... His players, his formation, his team. I'm not expecting us to win the title or be in the playoffs, but I expect us to try play football in the right manner and to look like a football team wanting to play for one another. Too many batterings and embarassing performances have put me off Hally as a manager.

Hally is a cracking bloke, but is he a cracking manager? Evidence says no so far, let him finish the season off then review the situation. I think it's bleak, it's a shame but that's football for you, sentiment gets you absolutely nowhere in this game. It just reminds me of Forest fans wanting Nigel Clough instead of Billy Davies last winter purely on sentiment, I'm so so glad we got Billy instead of Nige. Nantwich should of took note last summer I didn't think we went for the best candidate, and my worst fears have so far been confirmed.

Finish the season, move on and make a fresh start and get somebody in with some experience.

Nobody can deny it was a poor performance again! But over the last 6 months there have been many changes. Players and the managing staff alike have to adapt, this has been a poor season, but only based on recent history.
During the summer we lost our club captain, coach and manager, yes I know Hally is still with us, but coaching and managing are 2 completely different things, but we should never turn on the team, manager or each other. If we can keep the squad together and gain a bit of unity I have every confidence we can get things back on track.
We the fans need to have faith on the lads sent out there to do a job, at the end of the day they play for our club, we are all local fans wanting to see our local side do the best they can, we haven't got our favourites like Parky, Griggsy, etc, but we need to show the new batch that we support them, and try to lift them every time they put the shirt on.

I have to say thou that I am dissapointed in the poor passing, not able to knock a ball to a man five yards away, and the inabilty to pass the ball into a man's run, how often do see our guys having to stop or even drift back to pick up a pass, slowing the game down and losing momentum.

But I firmly believe things can only get better.

i always remember crewe wen they 1st went up and fished 11th 7points from the play-offs year after with the same squad n manager they only just stayed

maybe we took teams by suprise last year so this year they've upped there game when they played us?

Well it could, just look at Durham and Kings Lynn (that was).

Ilkeston Town survived relegation on the last game in this league two seasons ago (and by goal difference), then as we all know deservadly went up last season. They went through a lot of changes in the season they nearly went down, but bounced back.

There are still over 40 points to play for in this league. I don't see how a full assessment can be made with 16 league games still to go, or in other words 40% of the season still to go.

hey lads don't beat yourself up about it because at the end of the day its football-some you win some you lose.
You got us on a good day with Kyle Wison in form. We got thrashed at home by Retford before Christmas and struggled at Durham last week. I'm sure you will come good again. Just keep your bad weeks for when you play FCUM eh
All the best for the rest of the season and sorry about the nobhead who threw the coins-we'll be keeping an eye out at future games and he will I am sure be warned about his unacceptable behaviour.

The only thing I have to add to the above, is that apparently, there are some very high earners in the team. Isn't it time they started earning some of this... and who agreed to put players on this sort of money???

All i have read is blar blar blar blar. O.k not the best start for a team in green, but i've seen worse. heres the thing, Saturday wasn't the best of games (a bad day at the office you might say) and even worse due to the fact it was f.c. but not one of you came on here after the matlock game, and praised hally for his fine substitutes, 0-0 at the time. then go on to win 2-0. Myself i would rather be in the unibond south, playing cammals, kidsgrove, witton, leek, market drayton, and alike, however i am realistic. After all what does all this promotion stuff actually get you. OH i know a game of football on a saturday only at more expence and more motorway miles. And does it make that much difference as we all still have to go work on a monday win, lose or draw.

Panda you are the Optimist of this board and I take your point about the points to play for, it's not the fact we are losing games, but how we are losing them......well being tonked on a regular basis.

Wonder how the conversation went on in Sir Steve's house Saturday night?

"Well son how did your debut in the heart of the Dabbers defence go?"

"Er well Dad, not so good.....just off out now see ya later"........
