Congratulations to the former Railway management of Mick Norbury and Nigel Danby in their appointment as the new management team of Ossett Town. Things are looking up for Ossett with a new ground on the cards after their current home will become a Tesco's thus funding a cracking new ground. I am sure Ossett will be looking to be up in the mix next season as they duo have got a very nice budget indeed. All the very best lads.

that was a quick decision, the deadline for applications was 7 pm tonight.

If Norbury and Danby are the new management team, Mr Firth might as well book his train ticket now for a trip to the FA HQ for the disciplinary committee hearing at the end of next season.

Harsh but fair South Ossettian!

What is the time scale for Town's new ground?

no idea, since Mr Turfrey left the club, no one seems inclined to say anything about the new ground. There's been nothing on the official website, nothing in the local press and i've heard nothing locally. But there again, i'm not as close to the club as i used to be, so maybe people are talking but i'm just not hearing it.

i heard Wakefield might be going back to Belle Vue until the new rugby stadium at Newmarket Colliery is built, then a football ground will be built for Wakefield FC near the rugby stadium at the Newmarket site.

I'm guessing the other option for Wakefield FC is probably a ground share with Garforth Town, i understand Wakefield played a couple of games at Garforth when Ingfield was unavailable last season.

Apparently the new manager is Craig Elliott (of Glasshoughton). Seems strange him leaving Leeds Rd given their promotion back to the NCEL Premier.

that wouldn't surprise me either; Craig's dad, Ged Elliott, a former Pontefract Collieries manager, used to work in the same factory in Leeds as our football secretary, Ian Adamson.

i'm guessing Roberto di Matteo will be withdrawing his application now. :(

I heard that we were looking at returning to Belle Vue as well, South Ossettian.

I also heard the rumour about a possible ground share with Garforth.
I think that should be a big no-no given the distance and no direct access, I would rather stay at Ossett Town if thee is no real reason not to.
We played Kendal Town there last year in an a cup competition.

I'm struggling to imagine we would get our own stadium at Newmarket given our small fan base.

i've just seen the message on the Ossett Town twitter, like the Garforth fan said, Craig Elliott is the new manager of Ossett Town. The very best of luck to him.

Regarding the developments at Newmarket Colliery, i'm sure i saw an artist's impression of the proposed plans recently, presumably in the Wakefield Express. I think there definitely is a plan to build a football ground on the site, alongside the much larger rugby stadium and all the commercial plots nearby. I don't think having a second season at Ingfield is an option, we are resurrecting our reserve team for next season.

part of me wished Danby & Norbury had got the job, i could imagine the scene when it dawned on them they were dealing with a spineless bunch of back stabbers.
