I really don't understand why teams seem to be automatically placed in the Evo-Stik league. Alot of clubs have worked hard to reach this league and then you get someone from the football league that find themselves in debt and are immediately placed in the Evo-Stik despite the likes of Runcorn Town, Bootle and Barnoldswick Town working their (you know what) off to enter this league. Halifax Town should have started from the Vodkat League 1st Division and as much as I like Chester, they should have too.

With all due respect KW, where else would you expect the likes of Darlington and Northwich to be placed?

Both are merely relegated teams, rather than 'new' clubs in the way that Halifax and Chester were.

The FA have decided that Northwich will only be relegated by one Step, which means that they will automatically go to the NPLD1 (probably south).

Darlington is a slightly different situation, but unless that you are advocating that the club (as it currently exists) should be relegated by at least four divisions, then there is realistically no other place for them to go. I cannot believe that even the FA, in their infinite wisdom would relegate them to the Isthmian or Southern leagues.

Hello DL5 welcome to the wacky world of evo stick because that looks like what is happening to your lads.
Genuine sympathy for Darlo always had time for them as a club used to enjoy my trips to Feethams.
If they stick you in the Evo Prem or the North you will enjoy the warm welcome from most clubs. The league hasn't done the likes of Halifax or Chester any harm.
You don't need jumpers most clubs have proper goals except for the ones that don't.

I know Darlington will have visited our clubs before. Think we had a crowd of around 600 against them for the FA Cup 2 or 3 years ago. Perhaps 450 home and 150 away.

Thanks, the club needs a fresh start after a nightmare 12yrs or so and 3 administrations. George Reynolds promised us the Premier league and we did get there albeit the blue square one, now we'll be lucky to get the Evostick premier.

As you say Halifax and Chester came through and are on the up, I think this will basically be a fresh start, sometimes that's not a bad thing. We'll obviously drop to part time but should have a tidy following so should be able to keep our finances in order this time.

Does every post have to be vetted by a mod before it appears?

Only you're first 5 posts.

This has already been said, but because Darlington aren't a new club, they're just simply being relegated, they're being put in the right league.

Ok thanks, makes sense, You're right it's a punishment if you like, probably deserved too, no disrespect to clubs at this level. Anyway we're just going to take all of Spennymoor's players and walk this league

Think some here are making the same mistakes as some Darlo fans are.

As someone who part owns a club that is now going to be above my beloved Darlo, and as a former sponsor of Moor Green I know full well the problems of getting out of leagues like this, and as no-one yet knows where the club will be playing home games for sure, other than it will not be in Darlo, I do believe the projected figures are still somewhat in dreamworld.

We will PROBABLY have the largest budget, but I am not sure because I think people are being rather silly with the numbers threw the doors they are predicting. Season ticket sales will tell a BIG story, because for the last couple of years there have been more season ticket holders than pay on the day fans!!!

for a FAIR crack at the 2013/14 title

So whats your excuse this season hucks? No nasty ex league club this season was there?

Anyway if I was a Darlo fan id be looking forward to 2012/13, you're in for some fantastic away days. Get to as many as you can mate.

Totally agree that it's a bit of an excuse already. Embrace the fact that some proper big games are going to be on the way rather than moaning about it. That's my opinion at least.

Yep spot on Daz, the rules are the rules and I hardly see it as 'shafting' the NPL.

Northwich will not be a promotion threat next year. There is a very, very slim chance it will begin next season, but it will NOT finish the season.
