Blyth Spartans 2 v 2 South Shields. Another good result against a team who were promoted, who are a good couple of steps higher than us. Came from 2 down as well. Hopefully positives for the new season.
Sunderland XI at home and Whitby away before the "real" season starts.

South Shields 1 v 3 Sunderland XI. An entertaining game against a strong U23 side. A benefit match for the long serving Stephen Ramsay in front of 1405. A defeat had to come at sometime! Whitby away on Saturday in last pre season friendly.

Whitby 1 v 2 South Shields. Second year in a row we've beaten them on their home ground. Well that's the pre season friendlies finished. Except for the Sunderland XI, we were unbeaten against teams from at least a couple of leagues higher than us. Hope it is an omen well for next weeks trip to Trafford. Rock on.

Good test for Goole today against Lincoln competed well against a team that will be up there in the South league this season, not quite as free flowing or exciting as last week but with a few lads missing and against better opposition a decent run out and good preparation for next week, looking forward to it roll on the real stuff, up the vikings

Seems some players have paid the price after the Coalville thrashing , 2 lads the new manager brought with him from Maltby now returned to Muglet Lane, one of which (a 31 year old centre back that never before played above NCEL level) I told the manager that he was not good enough to step up to the evo stick he disagreed, a month later he rejoins Maltby, lesson for Mr Fearn listen to the dingbat next time son,
