Now that the friendlies are just about underway for a few teams, I thought that now would be a good time to make a 'preseason' thread, where forum members can discuss the lead up to the new season. Whether you want to talk about the friendlies your team have, how they've played, etc etc, then this is the place.

Our team is training again but the friendly games don't start for another couple of weeks.

So far these are the games we have confirmed:
Tues 19th July- Hemsworth (A)
Sat 23rd July- Yorkshire Amateurs (A)
Mon 25th July- Garforth Town (A)
Wed 27th July- Leeds United U21's (H)
Sat 6th August- Witton Albion (A)

Glossop kicked off their pre-season last night with a 3-1 win at Stockport Town. The squad has changed massively from last season and it is going to be interesting to see how long it takes them to gel. Rainford bagged all 3 and it was good to see him looking fit and healthy following the nasty injury he picked up at Vics in the play offs.

Got our preseason underway last night with a 3-0 win at Hemsworth Miners Welfare. Solid performance away at a team who will start next season one league below us.

The thing that most pleased me from the game was that I felt our new signings played well, and made a real difference to the team. Overall a very good start to proceedings, hopefully more of the same to come :D
