My home town team achieved an improvement on recent games yesterday by conceding less than 5 goals and not having anyone sent off. You've got to look to the positives haven't you?

Its come to something that you cannot name the club that you support , alas i was at work , so i couldn't go to a game of my choice anyhow , so far this season i have groundhopped , taking in Wakefield , Tadcaster 3 times , and last week Farsley , next port of call will be Goole .

You could do better.

There is a decent chip shop a hundred yards or so up the road from the Goole ground. There is also a decent club (Railway Club and Institute) a further hundred yards up the same road which will let you in if you ring the bell on the door.

Yeah we have been to Goole many times in the NCEL years , is the club the 1 on the street of terrace houses leading up to the ground ?

Yes.

It is on the left as you walk down Carter Street from Boothferry Road towards the VPG. It is less than a hundred yards from the Boothferry Road junction.

There is another club on the right a bit nearer the ground called the Victoria Club. We went in their briefly last season. It was all rather Royston Vasey and the people we were looking for weren't there so we left and ended up in the Railway Club. Very friendly place.

It was the Victoria i was thinking of , we have been in the a few times pre match , as for the chippy , have not tried it as Goole were well known for the decent grub inside the ground .Back to topic ( sort of ) , probs going to Goole soon so i may even mention football

Not in my experience over the last two seasons.

Hence the chip shop recommendation.
