New Mills have parted company with manager Ally Pickering by mutual consent. Seems very odd this to me as an outsider, anybody know what's going on?

Not taking advice and help from others regarding future opponents, by any chance? Among other things of course.

Roy Soule to be your next manager is the big word on the street, you heard it here first.

Definetly expect Roy Soule to be your next manager, we shall see what happens in due course. I still tip you for a play off place this season as well. If not then you will come very close to one IMHO. Time will tell.

Yes he most certainly would be a good appointment.

I hope you are right.

To be honest, I had never heard the guy's name before today, although I have seen him at matches this season. I can't remember any announcement of his appointment as Assistant Manager or member of the coaching staff..

I stand to be corrected here, but I think that our only league defeat of the season to date (1-6 at home to Warrington) came when he was in charge while Pickering was on holiday. I could be wrong though.

I expect two or three players at least to be a little nervous at the moment.

Roy Soule should have a huge network of contacts on the non league scene, being involved with FCUM for a number of years & many FC fans were none too happy when he left the club a few months ago. Decent guy & worth a gamble as a manager at any level of non league football. Sorry to see Ally Pickering leave the club & out of football. A 'character' who hopefully will get another run out at a decent club. Got New Mills promoted from the NWCL & not done too badly in the first season & a bit in the Evostick.
The new manager might get things more organised on & off the pitch but will do well to match the attractive passing football played by New Mills over the last few seasons. Ally's a personality that hopefully won't be lost to the game too long. Two good guys & I hope they both do well wherever they end up.

Is this correct - New Mills are to be managed by an R Soule?

If we can put in performances like today's for the rest of the season, you may well be right about the play-offs.

BTW, I had a phone call this morning from someone who told me that Bandy is the favourite for the job.
