A tough run out for us, but we can take some positives from the game. We kept trying to play football and keep it on the deck throughout the 90 minutes, some teams would of gone there and just lumped it. Obviously we had to defend in large parts.

We conceded early but reacted well to it and could well of been level at half time had one of our chances before the break gone in.

After that, I think fitness and quality told and we created little in the second half.

An enjoyable evening, lovely pitch and nice to play in a ground of that size.

Minimal hospitality after the game, 2 plates of scabby sarnies and nowhere to get a drink, and the showers werent working.

Pretty much agree Chris. Thought we could and should have been level at half time after playing some neat and tidy football. There keeper probably had more saves to make than briggsy in the first half who had alot more catching and collecting.
However we never got a foothold in the second half and were second best throughout but certainly not disgraced against a good conference side.
Think yourself lucky you didn`t have to pay £2.65 for a crap hot dog.

Although it's always disapointing to lose, especially in a semi final, we can still take plenty of positives from it. We worked hard throughout and although Gateshead had plenty of posession in the first half we managed to contain them well and have plenty of chances outselves. Last half hour of the game gatesheads fitness and quality got the better of but nowt to be ashamed of. Well done lads and hard luck. Let's concentrate on climbing the table now.
