ESH WINNING v BILLINGHAM TOWN PREVIEW
Saturday 15th April, Waterhouses, 3:00pm k.o

This coming Saturday, Town travel to the picturesque village of Waterhouses, the home of Esh Winning. Billingham can expect a tough encounter against a rejuvenated side who are fighting for their lives. This fixture could well be Esh Winning's final game in the Northern League and while we observed Team North's celebrations last week, it would be a shame if we all witnessed the opposite range of emotions if Esh were to go down. However, Town need to concentrate on their own affairs in preparation for Easter Monday's derby against Synthonia.

THE OPPOSITION:
Esh Winning's team colours are predominantly yellow with a touch of green; The club crest contains an image of a robust stag. Maybe the powers at be should contemplate changing the crest to a daffodil, because just like the popular flower, at springtime the football club begins to bloom after a torrid winter! And year after the year, the cycle continues but Esh are still in danger of losing its northern league roots and a defeat today, could well see the rustic club relegated into the Wearside League. Whatever the outcome, they've made a good fist of it in an attempt to stay up, going undefeated in their previous seven home games. Three signings from Tow Law have played their part in the revival; Kai Hewitson, Christopher Mordue and Matthew Soulsby. Veteran striker, Andy Clarkson is in good form (scored in the 5-2 fixture) and will be looking to add to his recent goal tally. Despite their lowly position, Esh do like to attack; Other players who could cause problems include Callum Boakes, Nick Marley and Mark Bailes. Esh claim to have the first ever mascot in the Northern League but they clearly haven't met our very own Billy The Bear!!

ONE TO WATCH: MAX STOKER
Stoker used to be a regular for Durham City after relegation from the Northern Premier League North (Step 4) into the Northern League. Can play left back but ostensibly used as an attacking midfielder. Stoker was captain in the reverse fixture back in December and Esh performed with credit despite losing 5-2.

RECENT RESULTS/HOME FORM/HEAD TO HEAD:
Blyth Town v Esh Winning
Brandon 0-2 Esh Winning (Clarkson, Marley)
Esh Winning 4-3 Northallerton (Clarkson, Bailes, Mordue, Hewitson)
Esh Winning 0-0 Billingham Synthonia
Easington 2-2 Esh Winning (Stoker, Boakes)

SQUAD NEWS:
Mattie Crossen is suspended due to his sending off in the closing stages against Willington but the good news is he only misses one game and will be available for selection on Monday. Jamie Davis returns to the squad after his one game ban but Jack Connor could be out for the remaining three games with an ankle sprain. Manager, Barry Oliver could utilize his squad and rest several players in readiness for Easter Monday's derby against Synthonia.

SQUAD FROM:
Leeds, Moore, Redman, Dixon, Ridley, Oakley, Osmond, Macdonald, Keogh, Dunlavey, Hogan, Lavan, Beddow, Dickinson, Davis, Hutchinson.
