1st April, St. James Park, 3:00pm k.o

The Town squad and its supporters travel up north on the team bus to picturesque Northumberland. It may be April's fools day, but Town won't want to be left ashen faced with a defeat against a struggling Alnwick Town side. The club has enjoyed bus journeys to Ashton Town and Bottesford Town this season so this will be the last chance the whole club can bond together as Town enter the final stretch of a long old season!

Alnwick are yet another example of a side that haven't enjoyed the start of 2017. Before the Darlington R.A fixture, Alnwick had lost nine of their previous ten matches with only a paltry 0-0 at Brandon to take comfort from. It was notable on the two previous visits to Bedford Terrace that they had a creative spark but were defensively naive not only at the back but in midfield too. Recent acquisition Sam Walton has caused Town problems in the past while at Heaton Stannington and he will be the main goal threat. Manager, Robbie Mitchell has been satisfied with recent performances but three red cards in as many games has hindered progress in terms of results. Ryan Douglas and Ian Lee will be available for the game but star player Samuel Perez will be suspended; Perez recently signed from Berwick Rangers and was on Barry Oliver's radar but signed for Alnwick due to logistics, living in Gosforth with brother Ayoze Perez of Newcastle United fame. One player who did impress against Town on both occasions was midfielder Joshua Hay and he isn't afraid to test keepers from long range or from acute angles.

Thirty year old centre back and captain, Gair brings with him experience to a squad that relies heavily on youth. And it is his leadership skills, on and off the park that has recently impressed his manager, Robbie Mitchell. Gair is now the longest serving player at the club but missed our two previous fixtures due to injury.

Alnwick 2-4 Tow Law (Douglas, Perez)
Darlington R.A 1-1 Alnwick (Lowes)
Alnwick 2-5 Northallerton (Walton, Perez)
Alnwick 0-1 Billingham Synthonia
Easington 4-3 Alnwick (Brown, Perez 2)
Alnwick 0-2 Crook

Lee Moore faces a late fitness test and several other lads are carrying knocks. Danny Rowbotham made a welcome return on Tuesday night as Town earned their first clean sheet since the Northallerton game and Stephen Oakley will be back from work commitments. Alex Leeds will continue in goal as long as he doesn't suffer any repercussions after an excellent performance against Willington. Gary Redman is away for the day!

Leeds, Moore, Dixon, Oakley, Crossen, Rowbotham, Connor, Osmond, Macdonald, Lavan, Keogh, Dunlavey, Hogan, Beddow, Davis, Dickinson, Hutchinson.
