Billingham Town travel to South Tyneside to face an in form Hebburn for the EA Memorial Trophy. Town will be eager for the game to go ahead after the disappointment on Saturday when the fixture at Tow Law was postponed due to a frozen pitch. Hebburn themselves had a free weekend and will do so again on Saturday after Norton & Stockton Ancients resigned from the league. Heavy rainfall on Monday and Tuesday may put the tie in doubt but Wednesday's forecast looks to be positive with sunshine throughout the day.

The Opposition:
After a slow start to the season, where goals were hard to come by, Hebburn have turned a corner since their 2.0 defeat at Bedford Terrace in September. The only blot on an otherwise perfect October/November campaign was an unexpected Durham Cup defeat to Wearside outfit Hartlepool FC. An eight match winning league run has seen Hebburn soar up the table and are now dark horses for promotion. Languid centre forward, Channon North is the spearhead of attack, ably supported on the wings by Chris Feasey and recent signing Adam Rundle. At 32, Rundle will be an asset in the coming months, bringing a vast amount of experience having played professional football. Fellow forward Glen Hargrave has chipped in with a few goals but Jason Blackburn, who had a bit of a nightmare in our league encounter is suspended for tonight's tie. Hebburn are solid and defensively sound but they have lost full back Ross Toward who signed for Jarrow Roofing at the beginning of November.

Recent Results:
Ryton & Crawcrook Albion 1-2 Hebburn
Hebburn 1-0 Heaton Stannington
Crook 0-4 Hebburn
Hartlepool FC 3-2 Hebburn (DCC at Hebburn)
Hebburn 2-1 Brandon
Hebburn 2-0 Easington (EA Memorial Trophy)

Last Season: Hebburn 1 Billingham Town 1(League)
League Position: Hebburn 6th......Town 11th

Squad News:
New signing Matthew Osmond will not be involved but could be part of the squad for this Saturday's home game against Whickham. Skipper Stephen Oakley will complete his three match suspension but if the game is called off due to a waterlogged pitch then he will miss out the Whickham fixture. Connor Dunlavey continues his rehabilitation from hamstring troubles and suffered no repercussions after his forty five minute outing against Washington. Lee Hogan and Jamie Davis have been carrying knocks in recent weeks but they will have benefited from a couple of weeks rest.

Popp's Pointers:
This cup is one that we feel we can win and one that we are going for but we have come up against the form team in the league and it's on their patch so this is going to be a difficult game. At the same time Hebburn will know it's going to be a tough game against a good hard working Billingham Town team and know that we were the last team to beat them in the league before they went on their good run. it's now up to the lads on the night if they want it enough then they are good enough to match and beat anyone in our division so hopefully we will be through to the next round come the end of this tough game.
