The result we wanted against a resiliant CLS who will do very well in Division 2 this season.

Bit shaky early doors and could of conceded but for what maybe could of been a handball on the line from Pez, ref and liner had a good view of it and not many complaints from the CLS lads around it.

After that, me and Clarky counted 7 chances we could of taken before half time but found the CLS keeper in good form throughout.

Second half was a scrappy affair until the last 20 minutes when it opened up again. Michael slotting home coolly from 12 yards following a bit of a scramble in their box.

The CLS keeper made another fine save from a Jamie Owens strike which would of made the scoreline more comfortable but we'll take 1-0 and another clean sheet, considering it took us to January to keep one against anyone last season it bodes well.

CLS pushed for an equaliser late on but couldnt force an effort on goal from the succession of corners and free kicks around the box.

I personally thought Craig Perry was our MOM.

Well played to CLS over the 2 games and good luck to them for the rest of the season.

Enjoyed the game yesterday and thought we deserved the result in the end. Had plenty of chances but it looked like it was never going to go in if we played all night. Agree that Pez did really well last night, also thought that Jamma and Glenn both improved a lot from Saturday where the passing was a bit sloppy.

Think new boy Danny Molyneux is doing well in goal. Not massively tested so far but has pulled off a few decent saves when needed and is a constant presence speaking to the back four.

Well done lads. Big game on Saturday and need to hit the ground running! :D

Congrats to Billingham T for Tuesday night. Thought there was very little between the two teams over the two games maybe Town just shading it on Tuesday. Was please with the way our totally reconstructed team played against good northern league players who have been around a while and know what is expected of them. Thought Middleton was your MOM on Saturday and Butterworth on tuesday. Best of luck for the season and thanks for the hospitality on Tuesday.

The fa cup is still an important tournament. Shame the fa are doing everything they can to ruin it. Final should be the last game of the season and move the semis away from wembley.

Cheers Chris. Thanks has got to go to Edwin Hargreaves who has taken the roll as press officer and is doing a sterling job providing write ups and game previews.
