preliminary round home to Grove United drew 1-1 lost replay 0-1

we finished 12th in the Premier Division.

Grove United were from Hazel Grove near Stockport and played in the Mid Cheshire League. They lost to Hatfield Main in the next round. I think they closed down due to their ground being on the route of a new motorway.

1998-99

1st Round Qualifying away at Newcastle Blue Star won 3-1
2nd Round Qualifying home to Whickham won 2-0
1st Round away at Guisborough Town won 2-1
2nd Round home to Seaham Red Star lost 2-3

we finished runners up to champions Ossett Albion, but we were promoted to the NPL instead.

Blue Star were in the Northern League division 1, finishing 18th. They had won the Vase in 1978.

Whickham were in Northern League Division 2.

Guisborough were in Northern League Division 1, finishing 6th. they reached Vase final in 1980 and the semi final in 1997, losing to North Ferriby.

Seaham Red Star were in Northern League Division 1, finishing 7th. They lost to Vauxhall GM from the West Cheshire League in the next round.

Blue Star had a couple of years in the NPL before closing down, the other 3 still play in the Northern League.

And there ends a brief summary of Ossett Town's involvement in the national cup competitions. And no I'm not doing the West Riding County Cup next  for starters I don't have all the results any way.
