also, Belper at home in the League Cup; it's been a few years since we last met them.

Workington at home tomorrow, should be interesting, especially if it's a draw and there's about 10-15 minutes left on the clock, i suspect most of our lot won't fancy a trip up to Workington on a Tuesday or Wednesday in the middle of November, so either the lads will switch to 2-3-5 and blitz Workington's goal to get a winner, or there will be the most outrageous own goal in the whole of christendom.

Years ago, when Graham Kelly still ran the FA, he turned up to watch Ossett Albion v Workington in a cup game, the game ended in a draw and in the replay, the game went to penalties and it was well after 11 when Albion finally left Borough Park. Albion didn't get back into Ossett until the early hours and one of the committee, rather than go to bed, changed out of his posh clothes, put his working gear on and went straight to work.

Enjoy the day.

 2-1 win over Workington, goals from Shane Kelsey and Andrew Catton. Well done lads, now into the 1st round proper, Luton at home would be nice.

two famous Stockport players turned out for Ossett Town near the end of their careers. Len White, the former Newcastle and Huddersfield forward, played for Stockport in the mid 60's before moving into non league football, he played for Ossett Town when he was past 40 and we were in Yorkshire League Division 3. He was still turning out in the Huddersfield League at the age of 50.

Chris Beaumont spent about 7 years with Stockport as they started to work their way up the league, he then played for Chesterfield before joining Ossett Town in our early days in the Unibond. After falling out with Gary Brook he moved to Hallam, nearer his home in Sheffield.

I'll also mention Oli Johnson, who joined Stockport from Nostell, i think he was in Ossett Town's junior sides while still at school, though i stand to be corrected on that.

Len White was before my time, but Chris Beaumont and more recently Oli Johnson I can remember.
In Stockport's promotion season to what is now the Championship Chris played for Chesterfield against us in the 1-0 victory which gained us promotion over Luton Town, didn't know where he went after that, now I do :)
