 Post subject: FA Cup draw - due on Friday 4th July

I've seen elsewhere that the FA Cup is oversubscribed this year, and that the FA are accepting step 6 clubs on a points per game basis. If what I've seen is correct, any team which finished 8th or above in Division One last season will be accepted, so long as they applied. Those finishing 9th or below will not be successful.

If this is correct, the only current Division One teams which will get into tomorrow's draw will be those who applied out of:
Hanley, the two Athertons, Holker and Rochdale.

I'm not sure what the position is regarding Wigan, who were relegated to Div One.

We'll find out tomorrow, no doubt.

Quick Question?

if Cammell Laird 1907 are newly formed team how did they enter the FA Vase and FA Cup???

surely its the old Cammell Laird FC that are in those competitions?

According to FA website, they're still due to play Dronfield Town in the Vase,
