Stockport Sports are due to play Runcorn Linnets at home on Saturday in this competition. Is it one that clubs in the league take seriously or will Runcorn field a fringe squad?

They got to the final a few seasons back and don't realistically stand a chance of winning anything else, they might well go for it.

Very well said Runcornio!!! I dont know any team that wouldn't want to win this very impressive trophy.

Matt, why WOULDN'T they go for it????

Cluck, why ask (in my opinion) a daft question like that? Why would anyone travel to Stockport to play a fringe team?.........did you's play a fringe team or was you's just "severely under strength" again?

Maybe clucker is trying to get the forum going and fair play to him for it.

But some of the points made are a bit strange.

Ten changes to the Stockport Sports team from last week. It was obviously a more bruising encounter with Squires Gate than I realised at the time.

It was a bit of both really. There doesn't seem to be much debate going on on these boards anymore so I thought I'd post something that supporters of other clubs may respond to.

Also

I heard on the grapevine during the week that Stockport may be resting several players, I was hoping Runcorn may be doing the same to give us a chance of going through. As it turned out they played a strong side and deservedly won the game. Should probably have been more than 2-1 to be fair.
