A fantastic result for everyone connected to Abbey Hey, beating Sheffield 2-1 away on Tuesday. Hey's reward is a home tie in the 1st Qualifying Round against Atherton Colls tomorrow and a real chance to progress and earn a few ££'s.

Good luck to all the hard working folks that have kept Abbey Hey's head above water these last few years.

Amen to that from us all down the road at Glossop. I know it's been hard graft, from a handful of people, over many years. A really top drawer result for them and the best of luck in the next round.

And after beating Colls, Abbey Hey have been rewarded with a potentially lucrative FA Cup tie away at FC Halifax. Good luck to 'em!

May i wish a warm welcome to any Abbey Hey fans travelling over today. Be sure to get a drink at either the 3 pigeons or The Pump Room, both near the ground and both more welcoming than The Shay. Obviously i can't wish them luck with a victory but i would hope that it is a good close game and the players make those that travel over proud.

For the best part of 40mins they gave us a very good game, disciplined, hard working and an occasional threat going forward. Two quick goals before half time took the wind out of them. If they could have held on till half time it could have been a very inetersting second period. I would guess at around a hundred of them made short the trip over to the right(hand) side of the Pennines.

Well done Abbey Hey, despite the result yesterday, you have done the NWCFL proud in the FA Cup, and as always at our level some much monies in the coffers along the way....
