Can anyone clear up the NWCFL's latest statement on their Respect Campaign...

League Vice-Chairman and Registrations Secretary John Cowley has some postitive news to report from last Saturday's games. Having processed the various teamsheets from the weekend's games, John has made the following observations:
"The clubs listed below had no players cautioned or dismissed from the field of play on Satutrday. Congratulations to these teams, who are obviously making a special effort to maintain our Respect Campaign:

Are the League now suggesting that ANY caution is against their campaign? I understood that it would only be those for dissent and foul and abusive language.

No yellows - utterly dependent on the referee. I'm sure we've all seen cards given for innocuous challenges and cards not given for leg breakers. Also, refs have an unwritten law allowing them to issue warnings to players and ultimately book a player for a soft challenge. The number of 'lives' given seems dependent on the refs mood. I always feel particularly sorry for substitutes who often get booked for their first missed timed challenge.

So well done to those card free clubs, but be weary of the card happy refs out there!

totaly agree it depends on mood of ref most of the time,
most liners flag for nothing, even at throwins they wait for
ref to decide he is often 30 or 40 yards away,

what abour officials who swear at players ,
you see bad tackles go unpunished yet when a player
complains he gets booked while liners shrug their shoulders,

and we all know officials are never wrong,

respect is a 2 WAY THING until the fa learn that it will
never succed with the campaign,

ps things have changed at blackpool then !!!.
