Right guys, so our 1st home league game of the season against Matlock is tonight and i think 3pts already is a must after getting beat by Hednesford last Saturday. And with Matlock also getting beat 5-0 on the same day, i can't see why we can't do this.

So come on Karl and the Blues put on a show today and set the benchmark for the season.

COME ON FRICKLEY, UP THE BLUES.

P.S Also us fans, lets give Ashmore and Grayson some stick

its something you will have to get used to Im afraid, gav as you know is a great talent but does tend to suffer with recurring injuries.

What are your thoughts on the rest of the former goole players?

Thought a draw would have been a fair result in my opinion, we wasn't great in the 2nd half. We maybe should have had a penalty at 1-0 up tho. Matlock's penalty was a stone waller. And their 2nd goal was very poor defending from us in my opinion.

I'm actually worried about us in the season now, even with only 2 teams going down. We could actually be one of them. Yes I know we've only played 2 games. But we've no points in the bag yet and i think our defenders are not up to it at this level. With Gav Allot now seeming to be out for some time, I don't see many goals going in either.

But let's just hope we can get 3pts against Marine on Saturday to kick start our season, otherwise we can all face another boom and groom season fighting for our lives again near the bottom.

Too many players booked, some maybe a little unlucky to be yellow carded. Too many high long hopeful balls
from the Blues' defenders. The penalty could have been prevented, just needed to put the ball out for a throw in.
Only one winner once Matlock had scored.
Never thought Gavin Allott would last long, hamstring injuries need a lot of rest, not unusual to take more than six
weeks to clear up and usually go again if the player comes back too soon.
Good goal by Frickley.
Think the referee will have booked a lot of players and sent a few off by the end of the season.
The Blues will have to improve to gain points.

Agree Blade, we need to improve if we are to get points this season. Our defence will be tested when we play better strike forces than the one displayed by Matlock - I think starting Saturday. When Matlock were pressing for a goal last night we looked disorganised, going forward we looked OK. On a positive note the boys couldn't be faulted for effort, I was also impressed by 3 or 4 of the players and don't forget we had chances at 1-0 to sew it up, narrowly missing the post on 2 or 3 occasions.

There were some positives, the work was put in. The defenders coped reasonably well for the majority of the
game. The goalkeeper looks quite good, don't think he could be expected to save the two goals that went in.
Frickley did make a few chances that might have been turned into goals on another day.
No one complained about the pitch, still looking and playing well. Some money raised for ground improvements.
Chris Wood looked nearer match fitness than the last time I saw him play, just needs to get a bit more central
more often to have a better chance of scoring imo.

defence were a bit sloppy for the pen and the subsequent goal that followed a few minutes later. other than that matlock weren't in the game really.

shame we were playing the 12th man again, he wasn't interested in giving us anything. i found him very frustrating, booking frickley players for shirt pulling but allowed matlock to do it and also kick the ball away several times without punishment.

no doubt the league will be shouting out for respect for the refs again, but they can stick that where the sun doesn't shine for me. you earn respect its not given just because. he made me laugh when he walked up the tunnel with his head held high thinking he was something special, lets hope they gave him a front seat on the matlock bus going home

Think the players that were booked held themselves back a bit understandably. Not the best official I've ever seen,
just hope there aren't many more like him. Matlock needed a lift to get them back into the game, Frickley gave them
one by giving away a needless penalty. Think the defender will learn from it and put the ball out in the same situation in
future.

FB. I'm surprised he walked up the tunnel at all, if it's the same G Mellor who refused to leave the pitch after we played Donny in the senior cup a few years back

The referee was quick to get the card for blues players. There were occasions when according to the letter of the law he should have taken against Matlock players. The most glaring one: a player caught offside showed desent by kicking the ball from one side to the other. No action. He also fell for the old trick of 3 different players marking, harassing and fouling a player, Danny South. The player retaliates and gets booked, the others get away with it because it was not by the same player each time. As in all walks of life you can demand respect which is the same as earning or commanding the respect of others.
Having said all the above he had no choice with the penalty. The ball should have been cleared. We need to retain the ball especially in mid-field as we did pre-season and then use it.

Iv'e read various reports on this match, I don't understand and am disappointed that supposed Frickley fans can Boo and give stick to a former player in Ashmore who is carried from the field with a potential serious injury. All for Banter, But what's that all about !.

Especially when we need 50k from various sources, including fans from other Non League football communities for the proposed new development.

I will let you into a secret !, Frickley does not have the best reputation of being a nice place to visit. especially for Visiting Supporters. We are trying to improve the Image of Frickley Athletic Fc !!!....Keep it real, Not over the top imo.
