Good, I probably wouldn't have bothered to travel to Garforth as it would mean a five hour wait for a train from
Leeds. Still think it a strange day for a friendly. One home friendly not enough really anyhow. Another performance
like at Brigg will do nicely. Wouldn't bet against Gavin Allott hitting the net again either.

Regarding the pitch, of which you have been critical in the past, many man hours and costs have been spent tending to it this summer, reseeding, watering, weeding and putting fertilizer, soil etc. down along with cutting the grass. These things do not take place over night and the longer time it has to settle before the long season of matches the better as far as I am concerned. The players have recently started to train on it and to their credit and that of the coaching staff have done so in various parts so as not place too much wear and tear on it at this stage. As well as the pitch the ground itself has to undergo repairs etc. so home preseason matches can somtimes get in the way of what has to be done.
As far as results are concerned you can only play against what is in front of you. If you play lower league teams and only win 1-0 you get criticised for not scoring. If you score goals as Blues have done then the opposition must be poor. Winning and winning well can bring bring confidence and the manager's job is then to stop complacency.

I was generally impressed by the pitch against Stourport, but it isn't in the same class yet as say a Winterton, Brigg or
Stocksbridge. Something had to done and was and for that I am grateful, and hope it wears well. Always tempting
not to play on it in such circumstances, but I believe we supporters should be able to see at least one or two pre-season
friendlies at home if at all possible.
If anybody wants to see what a pitch should look like and play like they should go to Rotherham's New York Stadium,
looks even better than the old Highbury one.
Frickley played well at Brigg and the Zebras did okay last season, Bridlington have a decent squad. Just would be
better to see the Blues really tested against a club from a higher level. On current form they might even win.

I hope Reece Fennell gets another run out. Proved he could finish at Brigg and made some good runs. Will
get better with more games.

Good first half with Frickley looking dangerous every time they attacked. Less so once Gavin Allott went off
injured, looked like it might be a hamstring - hope not. Chris Wood played like he was short of match fitness,
playing for more than forty five minutes should help. Terry Barwick was very good in midfield, won a lot of
the ball for his team and passed well and encouraged his team mates.
First time I have seen a all black/coloured eleven play The Blues, some decent athletes among them, but
the forwards finishing was woeful generally.
There probably should have been a penalty for Frickley in the first half and enough chances in the second for
another goal. Still not certain who the first eleven will be for Hednesford. Hope Gavin Allott can some how get
fit for it.

impressed by allott's performance until the injury. as you say blade lets hope its not serious and he can play next week.

for my first game, last night was a good workout and we did well first half, less so second but garforth didn't pose much of a threat.

looking forward with optimism for the season ahead, well done guys :D
