I didn't expect to find anything about Frickley in the music section. I don't buy the programme but
Edgar lets me have a look at his now and again, okay but not likely to win any awards. I used to contribute
articles to it a few years ago. More of a fanzine man really. I usually lose programmes on the train home or
in pubs in Donny anyhow.
Just a thought, how about a Blues' Festival at the home of the Blues, could be Blues artists, groups, buskers -
whatever, before the match, at half-time and afterwards. Would get Frickley a bit of publicity and might attract
people who wouldn't just come to watch the football. If successful there could be a folk festival or rock festival
or tribute band one to follow. Might take a bit of organising but could be worthwhile for the club and South Elmsall.
Could be a brass one too for the senior supporters.
Maybe a page dedicated to past Frickley heroes would be a good idea.
Might be the unbeaten run the Blues are going to go on this season, or is that wishful thinking?
Some sort of music festival has been mentioned in he past, but like you say,the amount of organising is immense to sort something like that. Someone asked me at the club if i would like to help add anything to the programme, as they said i was good at "writing crap"
. So the programme must be crap then. Just thought i'd ask the Frickley fans what they would like to see, or if they wanted to contribute anything. I think it's more up Blades street than mine.
