Mini if the Barrow keeper you mean was in the days of the Conference then it was probably Peter McDonell.

I reckon he's heard about the post-match chips & gravy - who could resist (most of last years squad apparently!). Anyway, to my untrained eyes, a decent little team is developing - can't wait for October when the relegation battle starts!

PS - where are all the nay-sayers these days. This forum is full of optimism, which I find disappointing frankly.

Nearly all the players are from either Evo 1, Or North East Counties. But there is a blend of experience and youth. But i believe a lot of these players have something to prove at this level, to themselves and the doubters, Now they have a platform to show they can cut it. That would be my attitude. No doubt some may be found wanting. But hey, let's enjoy it finding out. Everyone has written us off anyway, but we all know how we enjoy the underdog tag !.

Not sure TMc - he could have been a scruff-double for Frank Worthington & he nearly always wore tracky bottoms

Ben Turner scored on his debut for Stocksbridge in a 5-0 win at Worsbrough, I believe Lincoln Adams also turned out for the steelmen.

Some interesting view points on new signing Chris Glarvey and Frickley on the Grantham Forum :D

Don't these fans know that Frickley is a much improved cosmopolitan place to come.....Obviously not

Ben Scott is best friends with Chris Glarvey so I imagine he will have had a hand in that deal. thought Glarvey was poor for us last year. always wanting to blame someone else.

according to the green un,stocksbridge have signed grant darley, and are considering signing kevin sanasy and adam billard.
hope we aint all gonna get the face on like some SPS fans were at this time last year when we signed about 3 from them.

Why should we a get a face on? Billard and Sanasay have both played for other clubs since playing at Frickley. grant Darley was a hard worker for Blues but even he left for higher things only to come back last season. SPS can sign who they want, what really matters are the players for the Blues.

It was more being unhappy with Rinky trying to sign most of the SPS team at the time. Sanasy, Billard and Darley played in the friendly at home to Barnsley last week. What's Darley like?
