From what I understand, using the squad for the Sheff Cup match:

Stephen Dickinson - ?
Kelvin Bleau - still with us
Ben Turner - Stocksbridge
Cecil Nyoni - loan ended
Mark Gray - Ferriby
Stuart Ludlam - Worksop
Grant Darley - ?
James Ashmore - Matlock
Danny South - still with us
Brad Grayson - Matlock
Ryan Mallon - ?
Peter Knox - ?
David Cyrus - ?
Liam Schofield - still with us
Matt Semley - still with us
Jon Hood - can never leave us!

Can anyone fill in any of the gaps (yes Clooney, I'm looking at you!)

Ben Turner has indeed gone to SPS, I'm not sure about the others Mini with ?. Cyrus i believe has gone abroad travelling maybe. Hopefully we may see Grant Darley again. There will be obviously several ex Goole lads coming in, apparently the manager said at the Supporters meeting he had 15 players, and some maybe's.

I may turn up at the first training session, so i know whose stickers i need for my book. :D

Meant to add Ollie Ryan gone to Scarborough (to play, not just for his holidays) & Walshy concentrating on hitting a ball with a stick whilst having a long walk.

So there will be lots of new faces & I'll be there supporting everyone of 'em - not point worrying & whingeing about the players that have left, it's all about supporting the blokes in the (all) blue shirts.

Come on. we can wee wee this tinpot league!!!!

PS - I'd like to add that I am currently quaffing rather strong Belgian ale but that in no way clouds my judgement - just my eyesight!

There was a good left back playing for Selby this afternoon, very tall, good tackler, passer and read the game
very well indeed. Saved at least three goals that a very young inexperiened goalkeeper virtuary gifted the opposition.
Talked him through the first half, was replaced by another keeper in the second half. The left back moving to left centre half
and doing a good job, looked a bit too good for that standard of football. Think his surname is Thompson as the
other players called him 'Tommo'. Might be worth looking at with Turner going to Park Steels.
Very good flat pitch, quite wide, don't think its quite as long as Frickley's though. Not a bad turnout and free to get
in. Two two and some decent stuff played at times, the players looking surprisingly fit for their first match of the
season.
Sure I've seen the left back play before but cannot remember where or who for. Anybody know anything about him?
Don't think the Bombardier or the Jack Daniel's clouded my judgement as I only had one of each.

He's called Mike Thompson the tall left back for Selby.

Thanks for the information/name, SMS. Still can't place him yet, think it must have been at a higher
level somewhere where he didn't quite stand out as much, quality for that level on the ninety minutes he
put in, liked how he encouraged the young keeper and saved him from embrassment. Also made a few
forward runs with the ball when at centre half. Really like to see him at left back up against a pacy, tricky winger
to see if he as good as my first impression.
Garforth still looks uninteresting from a train window.

It's in the non league paper today, that John Reed has announced Matty Bloor, Defender Scott Hellewell, Midfielder Terry Barwick and Striker Gavin Allott have followed Karl Rose to Frickley..Maybe more to come ?.

It also mentions in NonLeague paper that the man involved in Rangers take over is ex Frickley winger Charlie Green now known as Charles Green. He was a good player in Northern Prem. It also mentions that Mick Wadsworth was player manager. I remember him playing but not as manager.

Charles Green was involved at Board Room level at Bramall Lane for a period. Mick Wadsworth was caretaker
player manager for a short period at Westfield Lane and departed when he didn't get the job for real. I watched
the Scarborough side he managed quite a few times, did a decent job, but he probably is a better coach than a
manager.
I remember Charlie Green at Frickley and Goole, like to take players on, a bit of a non league George Best but playing
in a more central position mainly.

Well I never - Charlie Green was playing for the Blues when I first started watching them. I remember a midweek match, one of the opponents had been catching Charlie from behind all match - ref never said a word. Greeny took it as long as he could, but then one dig too many, Charlie turned round, decked the defender, gave him a mouthful & walked off before the ref could even have a word.

It was at that point that I knew Frickley were the team for me

From what I saw Charles Green do at Sheff Utd, i wouldn't trust him as far as i could throw him..The Sheff Utd message boards are full of the same memories of Charles Green. He talks a good game, the Rangers fans have also been warned to take him with a pinch of Salt.

He reminds of a certain Mr Russell who was at Frickley for a short while !!

If I remember correctly, Charles Green talked a lot at Bramall Lane but actually said very little. Can't
remember him mentioning Frickley or Goole but there something about Mexborough Town, not sure
what as I had begun to not bother listening to him by then. Just one of many colourful characters that
have been in charge at the best football ground in South Yorkshire.
Liked him, if it's the same bloke, as a footballer, I was never convinced it was him.
