This Garforth game should be interesting if it happens, sounds like they have all done a Brazilian, and gone

Can't find any of Frickley's friendlies on the EvoStick League website, there some on the Northern Counties one.
Don't know why. Still could do with a game to excite we supporters. It seems that lesser clubs than the Blues
have arranged better fixtures.

Have a bit of patience Blade! We're hoping to have at least another friendly confirmed very shortly and once we have a fully confirmed list of friendlies I'll be sending that full list to the Evo-Stik League for their website. (mind you I sent them details of our signings nearly 48 hours ago and they haven't bothered to put that on yet!!)

Yes you're right that so called lesser clubs than us have arranged better friendlies but this is largely to do with the fact that most friendlies are arranged due to contacts of the manager and his staff and as we didn't have a manager at the most crucial time for arranging pre-season games we have missed out on a lot. Karl Rose was always going to struggle to arrange games against pro. clubs as virtually all had their pre-seasons mapped out before Karl took over.

On top of that we have a reputation for having a very poor pitch which has handicapped us for years when trying to arrange friendlies. Thankfully, the current directors have got the right idea by addressing this issue so hopefully a better pitch will help us attract better pre-season opposition in the future, but this won't happen overnight.

What is the latest on Garforth? Do they need my help to fix things or are they dead in the water?

Thanks for the information and explanation, Steve. Think one more game would be enough, but two would be better.
Bridlington midweek and Garforth on a Friday night not really good for we fans. The pitch has needed sorting for a long
time and pro clubs don't want to play on surfaces that could possibly do damage to their players. Many like to pass the
ball to each other, which didn't look easy to do on last season's pitch.
Might be a few waterlogged pitches tomorrow, will have to check before I travel anywhere.

Certainly wont be going to Selby tomorrow, parts of the pitch under water. Hoping for better luck
at Worksop, but will not be surprised if that was off too. It waterlogged. Think plenty of others will be
rained off. Least Frickley aren't due to play yet, hopefully it will better weather when they do.

Garforth Town position seems even more confusing, it's like an episode of Spooks, see link

Might go to Askern tomorrow night to watch our old rivals Wakefield, if it isn't rained off. Always
Dinningon v Wednesday if it is and that isn't waterlogged too. Haven't spotted a third choice venue
yet - any suggestions anybody?
Worsborough Bridge looked okay for sailing or fishing or water polo.

Bentley were due to play Retford on Saturday at Balby Carr, no idea why, it was rained off of course. Bentley's
ground prone to being waterlogged. Been there a few times, usually have one or two decent players but you
can clearly see why the rest of them are playing at that low standard. Another ground that suffers from vandalism,
Bentley Victoria put out of business because of it.
Worksop Parramore are at home to Belper too, I haven't been to Sandy Lane or Worksop for quite some time, might
be worth considering.
