Good to see some work being done on the pitch. It was poor and looked like it would only get worse if nothing
was done. I believe some of Frickley's bettter players struggled a little because of it. Lets hope that Karl Rose's
side can get the ball down and pass to each other on it.
Which is the best and worst pitches you have seen? I nominate the one at Highbury for the former and Eastwood's
old sloping undulating one for the latter.

i think a heavy roller would have been a good idea on it before the ground got too hard, stocksbridges playing surface is always a good one.

Stocksbridge's always looks nice and flat, think the groundsman does a good job there considering some of
the weather they get up there in the hills.
Wembley's pitch was very, very good yesterday. Pity about the result but there no shame in losing on penalties.

Thanks the pitch at Stocksbridge is good and didn't take much of a batterring this year. The groundsmen do a fantastic job, they are working hard on the pitches across the road now for the youngsters, to bring them back upto scratch. And NO you cannot pinch our groundsmen

the pitch at bracken moor is a damn good cricket pitch for a football field, better than some used solely for cricket in the area.

I must say, the pitch is the best i have seen for a long while pre season, The guys look to have put a lot of hard work into improving the surface by top soiling it and carrying out remedial work. It's not the finished article, but it looks promising !

We just need a few balls and players, The anticipation eh !!
