Obviously managers like to bring their own players in who they trust, but if we did manage to keep any of this season's crop, who would you keep........Although we finished 4th bottom i think a lot of our players will be on other club's radars, especially due to their age, there are some good players, but not the finished article with lot's of scope for improvement with time on their side. Danny South would be a good player to keep, but he's made a bit of a name for himself towards the end of the season.

Who would you want to keep IF you could......Discuss ?.............I will go with Jonny Hood

SMS given the opportunity, to Danny South I would add Ben Turner, Mark Gray, Grant Darley, Brad Grayson, Kel Bleau What we also need is a leader on the pitch who can get on with his own game and be able to organise for such things as defending corners and bringing defenders up together.

I wouldn't disagree with that......Someone like a Mark Hancock or Russ Wilcox. Talking about Russ, he ain't doing nothing nowadays, apart from commentary on Radio Sheffield..

Come to think of it, I wonder if he could have applied for the job ??

I think someone like James Cotterill at Worksop would suit us, but i imagine he wouldn't come cheap, a tough uncompromising player, i suppose Simpkins was supposed to be that player, but player and club never went together.

Maybe Ludlum and Dickinson should be added to the list, their experience helps in a young side.
Wouldn't disagree with TMc's choices and an inspirational leader would be a God send, though I
thought the present captain did well and certainly let his side know what was required.
Russ Wilcox probably waiting for Brian Laws to get another job and to work as his assistant.

I think a few of the U-19 Kids might be ready. But I would love a striker that can score on pentalty kicks.

Think I'd let Danny South take penalties, with orders to blast the thing. That or give James
Ashmore another go. Never fancied Grayson to score from the spot. Believe the goalie quite likes the
idea of taking them. A long run back if he misses though.

I don't think there's any chance of Ludlam and Ashmore staying, a Worksop fan keeps telling me that Ludlam is going to be a future Tiger eh FT. . And rumours around the Non League are Ashmore has been linked with FC Utd, probably after that belter of a free kick he scored.

But a new season always bring new optimism,Let's hope we get the right man, as let's face it Dove it ain't gonna be a woman, anyway what do women know about football, bugger all !!!

I was in the crowd at Bramall Lane when an episode of The Manageress or whatever it was called was made.
Think the manageress/main actress was Cheri Lungi. A few people in the South Stand picked out as extras
playing parts as policemen.
The manager/manageress of the England Ladies' team does quite a decent job. Get a bit of publicity if a woman
was on the shortlist nevermind chosen to lead the Blues. Come to think of it Frickley could do with a publicity
man or woman, I was the publicity officer for a writers' group for a few years informing the local papers and radio
of events and publications among other things.

SMS hence my selection and comments. Ashmore was leading scorer from freekicks and penalties with 10 goals. Says a lot really.Unfortunately he missed 2 penalties whcih could have made a difference at the end of the season. On the other hand he scored freekicks when we badly needed a.goalwhich to be honestl had they been on tv would have been raved about. I thought Ludlam would go. He too scored vital goals, but picked up too many bookings really.

I think Ben is still not right, i don't think his op was a 100 per cent success......but if we could see him next season,he would be a massive bonus.

I know I joke about Ludlam (and Danny South) being future Tigers to you mate, but I'm not sure where Ludlam would fit in. At the SSC final the manager paired Miller & Roberts at centre half, with Shiels at right back. He also had recent signing Ryan Clarke suspended for the final. He was Worcester's player of the year last season and only left Worcester because he wanted a club nearer home. He can play right back or centre half. There is also James Cotterill. We already have 5 quality players that can play right back/centre half so I'm not sure if this is an area we shall be looking to strengthen? The problem the manager has is getting whoever he selects to work as a defensive "unit". Where I imagine we shall be looking to strengthen at the back is at left back (as well as a new 'keeper). Can Luds play there? If he can then I shall continue to call Luds a future Tiger
