I always like going to Worksop, have had a drink with Tigers's fans on a few occasions, wish them
well apart from when they play Frickley. Usually attend a few matches too, but I was laid up in
hospital and in no state to think about football let alone go to games. Hope to get down there
next season and sink a few pints in the Newcastle Arms and the Carlton.
How's it worked out with Parramore being your landlords?
Hope to see you at the final, hope you do not miss this one, Finchley Tiger.
I'm glad to see you are now starting to get to games again Blade (I have missed your travellers tales!). SMS did point you out to me at one of the games post Christmas, I cannot remember if it was your home game against Chorley or Marine. I think it was your first game for a while based on John's reaction when you walked into the club!
Haven't been in those pubs for years, but my excuse is I left Worksop 34 years ago! I used to drink in the Carlton Tavern though. The Mallard was a favourite of mine with their ever changing beers. As John will tell you it is my turn to buy the beers so I suppose I had best turn up for the final!!
I think it's fair to say the fans are delighted that Parramore gave us the opportunity to go back to our old ground to play. It feels like being home again, even if we are tenants. My dealings with the people from Parramore has been favourable. There are of course issues around us not owning the ground e.g. we get nothing from bar takings, but I wonder how much of a "gold mine" they are these days. However, it is far better than travelling to Ilkeston and Hucknall for home games!! I've taken the opportunity to see several of Parramore's games including today's title decider against Handsworth (Handsworth ran out worthy 2-0 winners with Colliver having a good game for them. Unfortunately for Parramore Glasshoughton won at Emley to overtake them in the league and secure the runners up spot).
