I was involved with the club/board many years ago and had a marvellous time of it all. I was on the committee circa 1994 to 1996. Chairman was Mick Twiby, Vice-Chair was none other than Ray Hepworth and the secretary was Dennis Fisher. What happened to all of them?

Manager when I came on board was Ronnie Glavin followed by Mr Billy Whitehurst. Billy was replaced by Mark Dempsey.

Memorable players were Ian Thommo, Andy Hayward, Gary Hatto, Scott Whitehead and Viv Rayson amongst others.

I remember Dave Aisbitt being on the committee. I watched 74 matches in 2 seasons. The whole experience is one I will never forget. I live down South now and am involved with Lancing FC in the Sussex County League- although this is rather sedate compared to my Frickley days.

Good luck to The Blues.

I think you are mistaken in the position R Hepworth occupied at the football club. I dont believe he was ever anything other than a committee member. I believe he is now quite ill. It therefor would perhaps not be fitting to enter a discussion as to the merits or otherwise of his contribution in the history of Frickley Athletic Football Club !!!!!!!

Ray Hepworth was vice-chairman to Mick Twiby. Ray a rather
controversial figure in the club's history. Suffering from throat
cancer I believe, he could not talk the last time I spoke to him
at Westfield Lane. Ray a very good barman in the bar under
the main stand and a larger than life character.

Dave Aisbitt now lives his life as a lady, and can be seen 'turning tricks' for a fiver or less in Bar Zeus in Wakefield - but that is still better than being a Wakefield/Emley fan

I did see Ray at Wakefield/Emley games and at Worksop, probably
more a fan of Ronnie Glavin than either team.

Saw Mick Twiby at Belle Vue quite often too, but I am not suggesting he was
or is a Wakefield supporter. I quite like going to their new home
ground too but I am not a Bear's supporter either - their new nickname.
