Frickley ' Moody Blues! ' - no thanks, but weren't we once
Colliery and wasn't there talk of becoming South Elmsall
Athletic?
More a Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple man myself.

So Leigh give up on RMI to become Genesis. Will there be an Exodus of supporters? Have you seen the season ticket prices - Shocking.

The only bands worth talking about ;

1. GENTLE GIANT

2. JOURNEY

3. ARGENT

In that order.

A bit too prog' for my liking. Howsbout Halifax Hawkwind or
Eastwood Eagles? Always had a bit of a soft spot for Budgie
too.
Best South Elmsall band? Tiny Dancers - I Scream Brothers or
whatever they were called, one or two from the sixities too,
but that's going back a bit. Didn't one play on the Westfield
Lane pitch in the seventies at half-time - I remember they weren't
very loud or very good.

I believe they have been considering it for awhile.

Another club that have changed their name is Askern
from Askern Miners' Welfare to Askern Villa, at least
that is a proper football name and they ain't in our
league. Weren't they our Under19's?
Ron Pounder another connection with Frickley,
one of our better right backs was manager there
for sometime and the last time I heard was still
involved with the club in some way.

Fiz the truth is out there about our suspended players:

http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary ... sionLists/

Only Phil Lindley 1 game, Jon Groome 2 more games and Robbo the balance of the 6 from last season.

So the first game means we can field a good team! :D

Is this a cynical ploy to trap very stupid fans of a certain top-tier Brummy team with a similiar title?

I did hear about that taxi driver taking two toff Chelsea fans to the wrong Stamford Bridge(there's one near York too) which was unbelievableenough, but still, if it adds another 20 to the gate...

Site of a very famous battle of course, with Harold
getting the better of the Vikings and his brother before
William's mob did for him.
Doubt if many Brummies know where Askern is. Only ever
travelled through the place myself, got no idea where the
ground is or why the change of name.
