Scrappy game, thought the Blues very unlucky not to have got something today. A spirited display by the lads, if we show that commitment against the teams around us we will pick up points. Pleased with the effort shown today, thought the two new lads looked decent. Substitutions by Mozza were effective today and on another day Macca would have buried the chance at the end. Things we have to work on - giving the ball away too easily and getting set pieces into the box. I'm optimistic for Saturday.

yet again another team who really were not much better given league positions. shame to lose to a goal from a player who shouldn't have been on the pitch from his first deplorable tackle, and then later do the same and get away with it then subbed. i think the ref leaned towards whitby quite favourably, a blatant penalty not given even after watching the replay.

these ref's need to understand that respect needs to be earned, it is not a given just because they have the whistle. the man yesterday got it wrong so many times.

a brilliant summary there by nibbs at the end of the game on the video.
thought one nil actually flattered us cos we could have played til easter and not scored, woeful up front and showed little cohesion of playing together as a team, we did look a bit more threatening after the subs were made, whitby looked a decent side but for all their possession lacked a decent final ball and a bit of quality in front of goal, their goalie had a superb game, commanding his area and coming out for crosses for one not blessed in height, and the dark centre back was also superb, read the game well, and had strength and speed, as well as our strikers in his pocket, thought the ref was ok with not many mistakes.
i do think there must be some bad teams in this division this season for us to be out of the bottom 4, there was about 5 guys that started yesterday that are of NPL premier division standard, the others are below this level, of all the players brought in this season, when are we going to get a good signing from a good standard.

Sorry but Tymon's first challenge was only ever going to be a yellow despite the bench's best efforts to get him sent off. I agree, it could easily have been a draw, but the exaggeration with Tymon was embarassing. Mangham looked a quality player and I thought the second half was a really decent battle. Good to see MM and Joycey as always, best of luck for the rest of the season.
