We did the business today, much as I expected really. They obviously have issues off the pitch which is why they had a delay to the start of their season, and their slightly overzealous demonstration in the second half.

We have our own problems, but it was good to see we had the mental capacity to brush that off and beat what's in front of us. Impressive debut by the big man up front. Yes he can be slightly uneasy on the eye, but he's a handful regardless and he keeps a defender occupied. A well deserved 3 goals.

We were desperate for a second goal which took its time to put a poor side to the sword. Without doubt it's not a result to get over excited about, we've bigger hills to climb in the coming weeks.

Good for the confidence, we all needed a lift. Board, management. Players and supporters.

As you say SMS, you can only beat whats put in front of you. This was a win at all costs game and a sigh of relief tonight for everybody at the club. The blues started at a great tempo and kept it going until half time, could easily have been 6 or 7 at the break. Seemed to drop off the pace second half and could easily have conceded. Pleased for the big lad at number 9, he was a good target man today, something we've been missing this season and he paired well with our no 10. Pleased with 100% effort from all today and a great result - well done to all.

Steady away performance, against a poor llkeston side. But like people have said, you can only beat what is in front of you. But was nice to get the job done. Big shout outs to Curtly for his hat-trick and to Jack Waters for his great display.

Have 3 tough games coming up over the Xmas and new year period now. So let's go again next week and try and get another win.

Not getting too carried away with this straightforward victory, but well down today Frickley for the 3pts.

Keep going.

Well said, forgot to mention Jack Waters. Immense today, he's starting to be the type of player you miss when he's not available

Cracking result today. Let's hope that brings about a boost in confidence and the blues can put a run of results together, especially at home. A hat-trick for the big lad up front certainly gets him off to a flyer and his confidence should be sky high. Onwards and upwards...

Curtly was well liked at Goole, a bit raw, and needs to put his body. shoulder in when attacking the ball. He will give a
few fouls away if he does but will win the ball in goalscoring positions more often. I wish him well with The Blues.
A vital three points.

well it was all about the result today and not the performance, and we got what we wanted, well done blues.
this game had a feel of a sheffield cup game about it , poor opposition and just a matter of time before the goal rush came,
ilkeston are the worst side seen at the lane in the league this season if not of all teams,we came out of the blocks looking up for it, their goalie made 2 wonderful saves in the first half but we always wanted that 2nd goal to put them to bed, some good individual performances without being a good team display, but we can only beat what is in front of us, and we did the job, motm, a toss up between jack waters and vallo, most pleasing aspect of the display was the corner kicks, it certainly looks like we have been working on these in training as we had more variation with these than we have had for 6 years, keep up the good work boys.

Vital win for the Blues and the team looked like they wanted this win badly.

A target man up front, a great debut and lets hope that there are many more battling displays that keep the opposition defenders busy. Ilkeston were not very good but well beaten and it could have been many more 1-0 at half time did not do justice to the chances created.

Next three games will be hard at Nantwich and Spennymoor and home to Whitby but if we battle we still may get some points on the board.

The table is looking so much better than at 10th September when we had no points lost the lot.

Up the Blues.

Superb match report again by the bloke that gives up his free time to do the match reports. I wouldn't be surprised if Burton or someone else big time comes in for him. Hope he's on a contract so that we get some big money for him
