Disapointing start today, looked really good first 20-25 mins got the early goal and could have been at least another goal in front, Sebba will be disappointed with the 1st goal fair enough it was a decent strike but one he would expect to save especially after his top draw double save earlier on, game turned on that really along with the purkiss chance at 1-0 when he shot instead of giving curtus a tap in and of course the 2nd was a top class strike which I doubt will be bettered at the lane this season, it was the performance after that which disappointed me a little seemed to knock the proverbial stuffing out of us, never laid a glove on them 2nd half at all and gave away a shocking 3rd goal, was a period when it looked like we might get a good hiding but in truth 2nd half was easy for Ashton and they where cruising after the 3rd goal big inprowmemt neededon that 2nd half an afraid.

Obviously early days and i still think we can be mid table just maybe 2 or 3 players short who am sure Karl is working hard to bring in we are obviously miles and miles away from the side that finished last season. Suppose we expected to have jammer and Johnny 5 in there today who were unavailable for different reasons at short notice which hurt us, we need another centre back in now jammer has finally gone, we need someone to play with Hinsley at a minimum, not expecting anything Tuesday but still confident we will be ok once sqaud gets sorted

Started brightly until Ashton worked us out, after that I couldn't see us getting anything out of the game.. Some great work by Sebba first half to keep the score down and I think 3-1 flattered us a bit. The big lads up front need to put themselves about a bit more. Ashton are a strong side anyway - the team of last season would have done well to see them off. I'm hoping it was just an off day and we can start getting it together after a couple of games but I guess that's what the friendlies are for, Karl will know whats needed. Couple of great strikes for Ashton - better side on the day. On the plus side some good individual performances from the lads.

Great for the first 20mins. As soon as Ashton got thier first goal, it was downhill from there. We need a new, CB, MF, Winger and a striker.

Also when you see Karl on the bench for the first game of the season, we have to wonder what is going on. Ok a few players still have to come in, but why not name some under 19's on the bench?

Our next 2 games away are going to be very difficult. Hopefully after the first 6 games, more players will come in from other clubs, who are not getting game time and we can compete for more then 20mins.

Best of luck to the lads at Workington.

that was terrible, ok for the first 15 mins but then an early goal always lifts you, ashton were miles fitter, better organised, and wanted to compete, too many of ours were missing in action, the defence looked as though they didnt know each other at times, midfield were too deep, and the 2 up front, the less said the better if the ball wasnt within a yard of them, they wouldnt move for it, need 3 strikers, centre mid, wide mid, and a right back, or recall dockerty at least, thank the lord for seb, otherwise it would have been 6, and he didnt have that good a game, reckon only tyler and josh grant can hold their heads up from that showing, improvement in performance, desire, and fitness needed straight away.
