There chairman/ owner moaning like am old washer woman on non-league Yorkshire suite, to be fair i can understand them been annoyed over the cup final suppose Sheffield FA have messed up booking brambly lane for that date and now it can't be moved we would have suffered same fate had we got in play offs so got to say they have a point, but they need to look how they conduct themselves and what they say officially as like mini says they look a bit of a joke at min.

The name change is a urine take full stop massive Wednesday fan changing his clubs name to Barnsley town, Mr wood is a wealthy man but mr cryne isn't a man to be messed with also annoying a lot of reds fans who thry might have drawn some support from moving forward

Anyway hope we smash them Tuesday come on blues

in fairness mr wood seems a nice approachable friendly guy, but this time has covered his own face with egg on it, anyone who has been around in non league football for any amount of time will know that county cup competitions will take precedence over every other competition, also the booking of a league ground will take plenty of planning from the county f.a., i do believe that bramall lane would not have been their first choice of venue either so would have been in consultation with more than one local football league team, the date also revolves around that clubs fixtures and ground availability.
a few tips on how to avoid having to play 2 games in 2 days -
1. should have obtained a decent ground with good drainage first.
2. dont have a good cup run.
3. should have won the league to avoid the play offs.

p.s. one thing puzzling me,they have to change the name i can understand, but why change the club colours?

Surely leagues now need to realise there is an obvious answer, which is playing more midweek games around October / November time.
Shaw Lane have made a (drainage) rod for their own back somewhat, though I would rather play them in a final when they weren't having to fit in another game the day after... not that we have had an easy run fixture-wise of late though either.
Would make more sense to have their league playoff at least another day later, but maybe there is some important reason why this can't be done.
As regards the kit change, apparently a lot of Barnsleyites have told him that they won't go watch a team in blue & white, but they would if they played in red! I think he'd rather keep it as it is, but wants to attract as many locals as possible to games.

I think the league told them if it was moved from Tues it had to be on the Weds, think this is another reason they are not happy, as for the kit and the Wednesday link, its started as a bit of a micky take when they were strictly a local side, obviously its only banter and any fair minded person would not be put off by it but lots of Reds fans will never go to watch them because of it, most prefer to watch Athersley, Penistone etc even Frickley ,changing the kit now wont change that from reading the Barnsley forum and the proposed name change has only annoyed a lot of people further,
