Other than Walker are there any other teams in the Alliance who have serious/realistic ambitions of progression to the Northern League?

I hear even if Rutherford win promotion they aren't going to go for it as they dnt want that big of a gap between the 1st team and the reserves!!!

Rutherford are in Division 1 so they would have to wait another year anyway and finish in a decent position in the premier, if they were to go up evetually they could apply to have their 'A' team in the alliance much like Whitley bay do.

I don't know if they have future ambitions to do so but currently I would imagine that the position of their pitch to the changing rooms maybe be a issue if you have to a barrier running between them unless this has changed since I was last there. I am sure one of their lads could clear this up though.

Harraby would love to be in a position to move up, but unfortunately do not currently have access to a ground that meets the League Criteria. We are slowly progressing with our plans to 'Upgrade', we are now looking at creating a completely new facility in the Harraby area & have the local Councils backing , but these things don't happen overnight so we can't even put a completion date on the project yet, but hopefully we will eventually be in a position to be promoted :) .

Rutherford are intending to gain promotion this season as we have already told the league that we would be looking to be promoted if successful. I would say that Rutherford has one of the best set ups in the North East, we have just completed our 7 a side 3g pitch with floodlights and early in the New Year we plan to open our new club house which includes 6 new dressing rooms, club room, bar cafe and an admin office. I must say that it looks 1st class and this wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for Steve and Shaun who have dedicated so much time and worry over this project.
Therefore Rutherford are looking to gain promotion this season for all of their senior teams not only just the 1st's and I really hope that we can bring through players with the help of the more experienced players within the club.

Tails :D

And the Reserves will just have to keep up with the 1st team. There's no way the Reserves would 'hold back' any chances of promotion!!!!!

Have Rutherford got any ambition to progress to the Northern League in 2011 though or maybe sometime shortly afterwards? I know it's still a while away but it's good to know a clubs long term ambitions as well as their short term ones.

Getting back to the original post. Are there any clubs with realistic ambitions of joining the Northern League for the 2010/11 season?

Rutherford got no chance of moving up whilst the commity tell the management that they have to play reserve players because its their sons. Then when the players dont like what they are told by the management in training they go and tell their daddys !
One of the management team left, Top goal scorer left for Heddon more to leave soon !
No chance of promotion shame cause getting a good set up

Your basically crap comments are specifically aimed at two players and I for one take exception to that. I also take exception as I am part of the committee and regularly go to these meetings. If you have such 'insight' knowledge of our club then why not attend them as well? Then you can face these two 'daddys' face to face. Good luck with that.

No, I don't agree one bit. Everything you wrote is round danglies. And yes, you are welcome to this bite, I don't mind.

Kev Urwin has moved on, so has Danny Fisher. And so has Rutherford AFC. Players have come and left for the last 132 years. Others will go, others will join. But anyone with a hint of knowledge about Rutherford will know exactly who you've directed your comments at, and it's not on.

By the way, which club are you associated with, if any?
