Ashington Colliers were who i was on about but having spoken to louis at Newbiggin last week he assured me it was not happening and they will still be going next season. Expects to have a new management team in place soon. They are also pulling the link with Ashington.

I certainly hope they carry on regardless of what happens with Ashington FC.

I hope all is OK at Ashington. This season has certainly dragged on and killed a few teams, us included.

We will be merging on June 1st and will be taking our place in the Premier Division as AFC Killingworth. We will be playing from the current home pitch of KYPC.

The run-in crippled loads of teams. We've lost a great club in Northbank Carlisle and don't want to see any more leave either. But that fixture schedule had teams stretched to the limit, some beyond repair, and it's hurt us all because it simply wasn't enjoyable. We've seen players pack in playing altogether because of it, and then you look at some of those crazy scorelines...

The whole league descended into a task of simply getting games completed, just getting 11 players out was deemed a success.

Birtley promoted. So I assume does this mean the Uni got rejected?

Yes, it appears that their lack of a security of tenure of a ground by the due date was the deciding factor.
